Configurations are a way of making multiple versions of a Model within the same file.
Think of them like vehicle models. Each model would have several different types of options and within each option you'll have the available colors
Imagine are the sports version will come in red and the back two doors would be suppressed while the length has been reduced
Configurations may have children referred to as "Derived Configurations"
There are automatic configurations as well
