Though many newer shops are beginning to utilize 3D models, 2D drawings still reign supreme

Since most models are 3D, the minimum number of views is typically 2, but there are no concrete rules other than:
The 2D Mechanical Drawing shall contain information complete enough to allow the viewer to successfully interpret
The views below are something that might be used for this part, but not all parts:
NOTE: Isometric View and ISO drawing standard have nothing to do with each other. ISO is a company with a particular drawing style while "Iso" is a slang term for the orientation of the Isometric View.
We ALWAYS use the ANSI drawing standard and if at any point you use the ISO drawing standard, you'll know what your grade is; it "IS 0"
Annotations are the symbols and notes that are used to help interpret the drawing
Many symbols have universal meaning while others are subjective to the Drawing Standard used
Dimensions are values required to interpret the physical dimension of the model
Dimensioning is EXTREMELY important (possibly the most important) aspect of modeling objects since it is how you get the part manufactured
This introductory course barely scratches the surface of dimensioning
