EXTRUSION EXERCISE

Insert→Boss/Base→Extrude

If you LMB Extrude and do NOT have the Sketch selected, you'll need to select it:

• LMB→Sketch from Graphics area OR

• LMB Secondary Drawing Tree Expansion Arrow→LMB Sketch Title

Enter a Blind value and Check-it-Out

Insert Sketch on Surface

Sketch 3pt Arc→Constraint Tangent (with vertical edge)→Close with (Horizontal) Line

Play around with End Conditions

Finally select Midplane and enter some value

Change it to UpToSurface

LMB Sketch (From the DWG TREE)→Insert Extrusion→Blind→Select Draft

For the previous two Extrusions:

• RMB→Delete

Insert new Extrusion:

• Direction 1: UpToSurface

• Direction 2: Blind w/ Draft

Change your first Extrusion to be Midplane instead of Blind

Expand Feature 1→LMB→Edit Sketch

LMB Top Horizontal Line→RMB Horizontal Constraint→Delete

Drag the line so it's at an Angle

Insert Sketch on Face→Extrude Up to Surface→Extrude Along Edge

Edit Feature to start From the Back Surface

Direction 1 - UpToSurface→Along Vector

Direction 2 - Blind

Expand First Extrusion→LMB Sketch→Edit Sketch→Insert Additional Closed Regions (Within the original Profile) Ensuring they don't intersect

Edit the Sketch→Move one of the regions Outside the original profile→Check-it-Out

Edit Feature→Select Regions→Select the Pink between the original Profile and the second additional Region

Suppress First Extrude→Select First Sketch→Insert Extrusion→Check Thin Feature

Suppress First Extrusion→Edit First Sketch→Insert Additional Entities (Ensure they don't intersect other entities)→Insert Extrusion→Select Regions

Edit Original Sketch→Insert an Overlapping Entity→Check-it-Out→Exit and Rebuild

You must now select a region since there is no longer a Simple Closed Region

Edit Sketch→RMB Overlapping Entity→Select Other→Hover over until the desired Entity highlights Orange→LMB from selection box→Delete

RMB Design Tree items Flagged with Warnings/Errors→LMB What's Wrong

Edit Warning→LMB Display/Delete Relations→Filter Overdefined/Hanging→Delete All→Re-Add the desired Relations
