Most Advanced & Mechanical Mates are for show only, they don't functionally add to the model other than adding a sense of realism to the Assembly. These Mates can be super useful, but in the end, can usually be achieved with Standard Mates
Possibly the most useful Advanced Mate, Width provides Symmetry between 3 or 4 faces
Symmetry is used to make something symmetric about a Plane or Face
Similar to Concentric, this will position profiles evenly despite the shape
This is a useful Mate that limits the Linear distance between two items from a Min Dimension to a Max Dimension
The easiest method to determine the limits is to use the "readout" dialog box and enter estimated values
This is a useful Mate that limits the Angular distance between two items from a Min Dimension to a Max Dimension
The easiest method to determine the limits is to use the "readout" dialog box and enter estimated values
This Mate will attempt to retain contact with multiple variously shaped profiles
This will lock a Profile along a Track
Hinge is an automatic method of adding a series of Concentric, Coincident, and Angular Limit Mates to make your assembly appear like a Hinge
This will spin two Round Component based on the Ratio you Define
Similar to Gear Mate, this will instead move one of the Components along a Linear Direction
Similar to Rack & Pinion, this will Spin a Component about its Axis as it's moved Linearly
This will add the mate for the duration of the Mate Dialog Box; as soon as you Check-it-out, the Mate will be Deleted
